Bud Developers Program

Join a community of top hardware builders — and ship your own product alongside them. Whether you're a student flashing your first dev board, a hobbyist tinkering on weekends, or a startup founder prototyping a product, Bud Developers is where you get access to experienced engineers who've shipped real devices, a crew of fellow builders who keep you accountable, and the support to actually finish what you start.

Build anything. AI voice assistants, wearable devices, robots with personality, smart home gadgets, sensor networks — your project, your platform, your chips. You don't need to use our boards. You don't even need an idea yet.

For every level. Never built a smart device before? We'll walk you through it hand in hand — from choosing components to writing your first firmware. Already experienced? Bring your project and get unstuck faster with a crew that understands your problems.

Why Bud Devs exists

Building hardware is slow, lonely work. You hit a bug on a Saturday night and there's no one to ask. You lose momentum for a week and the project dies quietly in a drawer. Bud Developers fixes that by giving you a small crew of fellow builders who keep you honest and keep you moving.

How it works

🔧 Weekly check-ins — Once a week, meet up with your cohort online or in person to share what you shipped, what broke, and what's next. When other people are counting on hearing your update, you actually make progress.

💬 A crew that gets it — Ask wiring questions at midnight, share a teardown, celebrate your first successful OTA. Your Buds are building too — they understand why that blinking LED is a big deal.

🎤 Fireside chats with top builders — We bring in experienced hardware developers who've actually shipped products to share their stories, mistakes, and advice. Get direct access to people who've been through the entire journey — from prototype to production.

🛠️ Engineering support — Building on BK7258, BK7259, Agora ConvoAI, or TuyaOpen? Our engineers will help you debug, review your schematic, or walk through a recipe. Free hardware available for active members.

🎪 Monthly in-person events — Workshops, build sessions, and demos in the Bay Area. Get hands-on help, see what other Buds are making, and meet the people behind the screen names.

🧭 Don't have a project yet? No problem. We have ready-to-follow recipes to get you started — build an AI voice chatbot, a mood-sensing robot with animated eyes, a cloud-connected smart switch, or a wearable device. Pick one and start building on day one.

📓 Build log — Document your progress week by week. At the end of the month, you'll look back and see something real — not another idea stuck in a notes app.
