The BK7258 integrates a powerful compute subsystem designed for advanced IoT applications:

  • Arm v8-M STAR-MC1 MCU running at up to 480 MHz

  • Double-precision Floating-Point Unit (FPU) and DSP instructions with SIMD support

  • 3.84 CoreMark/MHz for efficient processing performance

  • Extensive Memory: Up to 8 MB SiP Flash (16 MB external) and up to 16 MB SiP PSRAM

The BK7258 combines advanced wireless technologies into a single integrated solution:

  • Wi-Fi 6 (802.11b/g/n/ax) 1x1 2.4 GHz with 20/40 MHz bandwidth.

  • Dual-mode Bluetooth 5.4 compliant

  • Dedicated Low-Power BT Transceiver (available in BK7258QN88617 and BK7258QN6868)

  • Integrated Coexistence (PTA) to ensure stable simultaneous Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity

  • Strong Performance: RX sensitivity of -98 dBm and TX power up to +20 dBm

Graphics, Vision, and Multimedia Acceleration

The BK7258 features a comprehensive multimedia pipeline for rich user experiences:

  • Video Encoding/Decoding: Hardware H.264 video encoder (up to 720p @ 30 fps) and JPEG encoder/decoder

  • Display Controller: Supports RGB and 8080 interfaces for LCD panels

  • Image Processing: 2D DMA (DMA2D) for graphical acceleration and a Rotation Module (ROTT)

  • Camera Interface: 8-bit CIS DVP interface for CMOS image sensors.
